Brief info

I knew at an early age that helping people communicate was my calling. I realized this through volunteer work I did as a high school student with students with disabilities, and from people whom I encountered in everyday life. The big answer to the question of "What do you want to be when you grow up?" was never clear until I heard a speech-language pathologist speak at a career day in my junior year of high school. That therapist, who was obviously passionate about her job, brought clarity to my career path.

I attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and graduated with honors. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and received my Master of Science degree. During my education, I sought out opportunities that would make me a well-rounded clinician, including an independent research project which was published and presented at Closing the Gap, an international assistive technology conference. Since graduation, my focus has been on pediatric clientele. I have worked in public school settings, outpatient clinics, and early intervention. I mentor student teachers and provide supervision to speech assistants and new graduates in the field. I have extensive training, interest, and experience with pediatric feeding challenges and augmentative/alternative communication and assistive technology. Additionally, I am certified in animal-assisted therapy.

After working in the field for over 10 years, I decided to form my own company so I could always ensure my clients received excellent services. I searched for staff who excel in their areas of expertise and who dedicate themselves to our clients as they do their own families. I strive for our team to be comfortable, secure, and proud of the work they do. It is so important for our staff to work where operations are fair, fun, and flexible. I want to see everyone successful and happy.

I am married and have two beautiful and precocious children. When I am not juggling various clinical and administrative challenges, I enjoy visiting family and friends, live theater, traveling, and expanding my horizons with new adventures.

I completed my undergraduate degree at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota and my graduate degree at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I have been practicing with pediatrics for over 20 years.
